Clark Griffith is an Executive! Sorry, Jimmy Collins!
Jan 10, 2013 by Adam DarowskiCommenter Iron Horse asked me why I have Clark Griffith designated as a Hall of Fame player. Turns out, the Hall of Fame website and Baseball-Reference didn’t agree on Griffith’s designation. So, I asked:
Clark Griffith is designated as a HOF Executive on @baseballhall site and as a Player on @baseball_ref. Anyone know who’s right?

It turns out, the Hall is right. (Baseball-Reference said they’ve already made the change… how responsive!)
So, that means there are now only 208 Hall of Famers inducted as players rather than 209. That means Jimmy Collins is bumped from the Hall of Stats, mere days after his induction.
Sorry, Jimmy!
